various clips from the argument. i took these myself because i was so insane about brett and sarah... i feel like they're the exact combination of HL i love (among other HLs). they are the couple ever. thank you for casting danny pudi to play a guy like brett.

the expression + sound he makes... okay!! i like that brett flirts a little bit (acting out bc he doesn't feel loved...) and you see sarah getting jealous ooooh.

here too sarah feels protective when she sees brett is affected :) :) :) i like them so much.

THE FACE HE MAKES... like a cartoon

love how his demeanor changes between the previous clip and this one. this is the first time he's Serious serious in the film and it's sooooo :)

the way he BREAKS!!! "if sarah doesn't wanna BE HERE" ooohhhh baby boy you have repressed your resentment so bad. and the act of sending her a photo + the childish way he's talking smack while she's not there... kisses him passionately

love love love his mad descent from "casually sassing the sock puppet who represents my gf" to "WHAT HAPPENED TO US!??!?!" exquisite. after seeing brett be polite and tolerant, his unhinged behavior at this point of the movie feels like a reward. perfect character.

THE SQUARE OFF IS SO DEAR TO ME. early-movie brett was sooo non-confrontational, but at this point he's not taking anything sitting down anymore :) love when a mostly beta male chara does something like this... undeniably charming for some reason

but also he lets himself get subdued - EVEN BETTER.......!!!! the bending at the knees to let himself be fed the drink ohhhhh. the little "mhm." dreamy sigh.

his little "ohhhhh fuck" i was kicking my feet. i like how pathetic his attempt to spin the sock puppet thing positively was... not so bold now that she's there huh!!! (he plays a scared guy so well. this is hurtful to me specifically.)

the jolty movements are so funny too. love how pathetic he looks getting celery thrown at his head

this was the clip that started it all. extremely deranged about everything in this.

    • sarah coming up with the nickname numnum is so cute btw... so different from what we know about her up to this point.
  3. love how he puts his wants out there, his heart on the line, trusting that she wants the same thing and just needs him to say it first. and she DOES. sorry to psychoanalyze a couple from a film where they are not even the main characters but oh my god.
  4. SHE PICKS HIM UP AND PUTS HIM ON THE TABLE.
  5. the fucking sounds in the bg? what are they DOING?

also her slapping him and shoving celery in his mouth while he's tryna talk OK!!!! wow!!!!!! (and he presumably enjoys it)

his satisfied little giggling + fumbling with his tie ohhhh... and sarah looks so happy...

i love how freak4freak they are. you start off thinking the main couple is the weirdest one (two artists trying to do a 1:1 recreation of an argument they had to figure out who was right) but end up being like oh. it was the polite lit agent and the stony-faced lawyer.

huey's legs

danny does a great job voicing huey in general (i particularly like all his little freakouts). i love this clip so much – the frantic defensiveness in his voice when he goes "i'm not good at imagination stuff, okay?!" LOVE!!!!

i was looking for an edit to attach to my announcement that i acquired mythic quest and was immediately attacked by this. as an OG onceler fan this killed me. brad is extremely sexymannish in personality afaik – it fits way too well

two different people brought this video up after seeing my danny pudi shrine and you know what... i don't know why this was not already on here LOL it's perfect. anyway, i love that he just likes coffee and socks. so darling.
