you are very sweet, anon, thank you!! T__T i used mozilla's tutorials to help create my site in 2023 – i mostly read up on css, since i remembered a bit of HTML in high school. it was a good place to start!
after some time, i learned enough that i could browse people's sites and right click > inspect/view source on anything i want to emulate, then try to parse their code. or i'd think of something specific i wanted to do with my site and look up tutorials on how to do the easiest version of that thing. my coding journey has been non-linear mostly... it's a lot of breaking things down and knowing how to search lol.
i also saved a bunch of stuff on my links page that have helped me! most personal websites have links pages to stuff that's helped them too, so i go through those. lots and lots of websurfing!

GOOD QUESTION ANON... i think the duck boys have to be my answer. i've loved them since i was a kid (i have a notebook from when i was 7 where i kept a list of my fictional crushes that is evidence of this).
i think i'd also pick them because i more or less love them all a lot... among the other two groups, i have very clear lesser faves, but even though i don't talk about dewey as much as i do huey or louie, he was my first favorite, and i love him a lot! so the average love across all brothers is higher for the duck boys than it is for the turts or the matsus. this was fun to ponder, thank you... <3

to answer your question: i do not manually update things, although i used to for a long time! it was very tedious (i don't recommend) so at some point i learned how to use something called a static site generator.
with an SSG, my workflow is like this: i write the posts individually, then the generator fills in information from those posts into the larger diary page template (which i coded in advance) and generates all the pages for me! (i hope that makes some sense...)

oh! i've been wanting to rework that one for a while, but got stuck on trying to get some new icons made (read: color my drawings). i finally got em all done though, so now it's just a matter of filling up the page. (i have some new inserts.......)

hiya anon!!! i unfortunately manually update my pages (aka navigate to every folder with pages i edited and reupload them LOL)... i edit the code on my local files and VScode. i've yet to try a SSG or sit down to learn how to use one, but i'd like to try to do that with another site maybe!

hello hello!! yeah, i know a bit about hazbin hotel! i'm a tumblr sexyman enjoyer so i got curious about alastor when the pilot came out, LOL. i have mixed feelings about both hazbin and helluva boss, but i stay up to date anyway because the characters are interesting. i'm excited to hear their broadway VAs bring them to life! (i like theatre.)
my favorite character is vox, even though we barely know anything about him yet – he's just very handsome – and i have a soft spot for sir pentious because of a wonderful fic.

- no, i think my style is a bit too minimalist/classic for it. i've learned that too much fluff and lace looks kind of weird on me, so my style is a lot more plains + solid shapes. it's very cool on other people though!!!
